9:15 AM	Tim Ondrey - Marist - Business Intelligence: Cognos on z/Linux Through virtualization, Marist College has harnessed the power of System z to run a number of large applications such as; SunGard's Banner ERP, Email, Sakai iLearn and hundreds more Virtual Linux Machines. The presentation will give an overview of System z at Marist. The presentation will focus on how IBM's Cognos Business Intelligence has been used to support the Academic Initiative and is in the early stages of being evaluated for use with our Banner implementation. The presentation will include an in depth analysis of the z/Linux environment: Cognos Software, Databases instances (Oracle/DB2), Web Services and the Virtual Computing Lab(Intel). The presentation will share issues encountered, how they were resolved and/or what kind of work around was used (can it be fully resolved?)

10:30 AM	Jim Newell - IBM - End to End Application Discovery, Mapping and Configuration Management Across Traditional and Virtualized Infrastructures In today's world of composite applications understanding how these applications and their underlying infrastructures whether physical or virtualized are configured and interconnected is critical to keeping them alive and well. In order to do this, IT needs discover and visualize the complex chain of dependencies involved in business applications, isolate problems to root causes and in this way maximize overall application availability and performance. For composite applications that span multiple systems, data repositories, networks and subnetworks and other IT elements, such a challenge can be difficult to meet. Using discovery technology simplifies this challenge tremendously, by identifying the actual state of each element in such a chain of dependencies and reflect the information via an easy-to-read topology map and reports. As an added benefit, IT teams can also be continually apprised not just of application status but also of any specific infrastructural changes that may have taken place to affect it. Configuration changes can be tracked over time, involving different combinations of technologies or software versions, as well as illustrate compliancy (or lack of it) with internal policies or external government regulations. 1:00 PM	Romney White - IBM - Unified Resource Manager The heart of the IBM zEnterprise System is the Unified Resource Manager, which provides hardware and platform management for all components of the system. This includes operational controls and management of hypervisors, virtual server lifecycles, networks, storage, performance, and energy. By leveraging virtualization, Unified Resource Manager encapsulates virtual server management, administration, and operation into a coherent set of functions that operate across the multiple architectures of zEnterprise. When z/VM runs in this environment, it can be managed by Unified Resource Manager. 2:15 PM	Mike Buzzetti - IBM - IBM zEnterprise zBX Overview and Impact to Solution Design and Deployment The new IBM zEnterprise is the first system of systems. It is a hybrid system made up of a new mainframe component and a zEnterprise BladeCenter Extension. The zBX introduces new opportunities for solution design, deployment. It also opens up the opportunity for new application and solution designs. This session will provide an overview of the zBX and the potential impacts to solution design and deployment.

3:30 PM	Eric Farman - IBM - Using SCSI in a z/VM Environment An overview of z/VM's native support for SCSI disks, and how they can be used to install, IPL, and run your z/VM system in a SCSI-only environment.
