This session will return "back to basics" to explain the architectural and functional differences that make the IBM System z unique among computing platforms, both in its unique hardware design, and in its advanced, highly integrated software stack. In addition, this session will discuss factors to consider when deciding what platform is the best fit for a given application, and how the unique design of the System z can make it the most cost effective platform for many business critical applications. 10:15 Am Coffee Break 10:30 AM Chuck Morse - IBM - the z/VM Early Support Program Keri Borrego - IBM - z/VM 5.3 Early Support Program Arty Eckock - CUNY - z/VM 5.3.0 Users Experience Chuck Morse, and Keri Borrego of IBM will provide an overview of the Early Support Program for z/VM 5.3.
