The MVMUA Board of Directors will report on MVMUA activities and will entertain questions, suggestions, and comments from the members.

9:15 AM - New VM/ESA 2.4.0 Announcements and Features
Speaker: Chuck Morse, IBM

On May 24th, IBM announced the latest release of VM/ESA, containing new hardware support, improved guest support and lots of TCP/IP enhancements. Chuck Morse, of IBM's Washington Systems Center will review these enhancements along with other recent improvements to VM/ESA.

10:30 AM - Current Development for SAS on CMS
Speaker: Jim Weathers, SAS Institute

Jim will update members on the latest developments for SAS on CMS.

1:00 PM - Using VM File Systems
Speaker: Alan Altmark, IBM

Alan will compare and contrast the benefits and drawbacks of minidisks, Shared File System and the Byte File system.

2:00 PM - How to Set up a SFS Server in 1 Day
Speaker: Eric Schuler-Dalverny, IBI

Eric will relate his experiences and tips for setting up SFS servers.

3:00 PM - SFS Performance
Speaker: Bill Bitner, IBM

The "great Bit" himself will tell us all we need to know in order to run speedy SFS servers.
