- Docker Strategy and Future Directions on IBM Z
Vicom Infinity is partnering with IBM and Docker to deliver the next generation of IBM Z infrastructure to run mission critical applications using the powerful Docker containers. This presentation will discuss how Docker enables the IBM Z as a powerful and secure landing zone for developers to create advanced next generation applications and services using their favorite Docker tools. The IBM Z infrastructure provides unique services specifically tailored for safely running modern cognitive learning and Blockchain applications in a highly performant manner including unrivaled compute density, secure LPARs, advanced compression technology, cryptographic co- processing cards, inflight/at rest encryption, and locating the application closer to the data. By incorporating Docker Enterprise with IBM Z, developers now have a way to access these unique services without having to understand any of the underlying IBM Z Infrastructure. The familiar Docker experiences your development teams are building with on x86 Linux and Windows operating systems are now exactly the same on IBM Z. In turn, Docker, IBM, and Vicom Infinity view this as a unique opportunity for standardizing software delivery across your organization and a chance to maximize your investments with IBM Z as an integral part of your Cloud transformation strategy. During this lunch n learn teleconference you will learn how to leverage IBM Z and Docker as an integral part of your Cloud transformation journey.

- VM I/O Update: EAV Minidisk & Secure Paging Support
While z/VM has had support for Extended Address Volumes (EAV) for years, the associated minidisk support was restricted in many ways. A lot of those restrictions have been lifted by service to z/VM 6.4 and this session will describe those changes. Additionally, IBM has provided the ability to encrypt z/VM paging volumes with service to z/VM 6.4. This session will walk through the details of that support as well.

- State of z/VM
In keeping with Article II, Section 4, of the z/VM Constitution: "They shall from time to time give the customers information of the State of the Hypervisor and recommend to their consideration such measures as they shall judge necessary and expedient." In this session, Reed and Bill will talk about some of the recent accomplishments and state of everyone's favorite hypervisor. They will also share some possible observations on the future. System programmers will have five minutes for rebuttal.

- Blockchain and iSM
iWay Software support for private blockchain maximizes the many advantages of this modern approach to transaction interchange and non-repudiable storage. In the financial/enterprise business world, a private blockchain provides a basis for non-repudiation and automates many of the existing labor-intensive processes required to process or settle transactions. iSM Blockchain can reduce transaction and back office costs, the complexity of cross-enterprise business processes, fraud, and inefficiencies in the business to free up capital.
This session will focus on providing an introduction to Blockchain and an overview of integrating iWay Service Manager (iSM) with Blockchain applications:
