1:00 PM | Helen Rude Marist Leveraging the NYS CCAC
The NYS Cloud Computing and Analytics Center (CCAC) is a grant funded resource that is made possible by a public-private partnership between government, industry and Marist College. We help businesses and non-profits leverage cloud and analytics technologies for growth, while engaging students and faculty in hands-on projects pertaining to the real-world adoption of these technologies. We have up-to-date compute power (hardware and software running under VM) and talent (students and faculty) that we make available at extremely competitive rates so we can help reduce barriers to technology adoption. Whether you think of us for your sandbox/develop needs, or as a talent pipeline - or both - we are here to help you accelerate "time to market" in leveraging these game-changing technologies |

2:30 PM | Bob Rogers - IBM- How do you do what you do when youre a z13 CPU
The IBM z13 introduces two new technologies to the mainframe: Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT), which enables a single hardware core to appear to be two CPUs, and Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) processing which enables the processor to operate on up 16 pairs of operands with a single instruction. In this presentation we take a look under the covers to see how the technologies actually work in the processor.
