Jorgen Christiansen, CA's VP of Research and Development, was in the UK recently to give this talk. VM:Backup and VM:Backup Hidro for Disaster Recovery by Phill Smith of CA's Senior Technical Support staff. How to decide what to backup, how to back it up, and the priorities for restoring in the event of a disaster. These are the key elements for producing a workable Disaster Recovery procedure. Phil has spoken at SHARE, MVMUA, the VM technical Conference, the VM workshop. He is a published author, Book editor, and a regular contributor to trade journals. Eric Schuler-Dalverny of Information Builders has been the Operations Manager, Disaster Recovery Coordinator, and Lead Senior Systems Programmer at Information Builders longer than most people have been in data processing. He will give a Disaster Recovery check list and how to us VM:backup for Disaster Recovery. 2:30 PM Break 2:45 PM HIDRO what is it and is it better? Bill Munson of Information Builders will talk about introducing HIDRO to the Disaster Recovery procedures at Information Builders. 3:30 PM Break 3:45 PM Storage Management of a Shared File System.
